Animal Cops South Africa.

As far as I can tell they took the horses from the man because their housing was abysmal (from what I saw it was a space with all hard ground, a washing line, and about 6 x 3 metres), but they aren't overweight or skinny (a little lean - ribs visible, probably a body score of 2) and feet cared for etc, but one was clearly thrilled at being able to roll.

Would you agree with this? Might you think that cruelty cases in the Uk would be reduced if the RSPCA etc sorted these problems before they got any worse? Or do you think that is a bit ott, considering the horses are well cared for in all other senses?

In a developing country where they regularly leave puppies/kittens in a bag in the road or drown them in the river I'm surprised that they have the time to remove horses in ok condition, but really pleased to hear that they're being pro active! Sometimes I think in this country they have their priorities a bit wrong, hope that what's happened recently is a learning curve for animal charities and mabey some good can come out of the situation being so well publicised.
