Where do you get yours from?

That was from brick house farm on canvey. I don't buy hay regularly and it may cost more this winter (I was using it while he was in a starvation paddock) but they have had two harvests of the same amount as previous years.

Between £3.50-£4 a bale for small bale hay.The £4 stuff was exceptionally good though:)
Has been very expensive down here in Devon for last couple of years, although bizarrely I can get huge round bale hay for around a tenner!!

Hopefully I will be doing that this winter as price of small bale is rediculous, and have heard it is only going to get worse this winter due to bad harvests:(

my supplier starts at £1.50 for last years - £2.50 bale for fair good quality hay but has some thistles - next is £3.00 for good quality meadow hay - no thistles, no dust absolutely lovely smellin - then £3.50 for her top of the range absolutlet fantastic stuff - charge £5.00 delivery -app she used to deliver to you guys in esssex but has dropped the essex group this year to ensure that we up here have sufficient hay. She assured me that there is no shortage and that all the hay is good quality - going to get some in next few weeks - so see need to rush and store since we have now been guaranteed it all winter

Used to pay £3 a small bale, but now I get it included with livery (as much as you want) oh and it's haylage now actually.

£4 plus, seems so steep. I would have a higher hay bill than my livery bill...:eek::eek:

i pay £3 delivered nice bales this year. Unfortunately my yo has been dealing with the farmer for over 20 years for her hay and I don't think he is taking on new customers. Theres a farmer up the road from me who sometimes advertises hay, I could get his number but not sure where in essex you are it might be too far.

... Our hay man treats us well though - we buy around 100 bales/month in winter (+ round bales + straw) and always pay full cash on the day ;)!

in in kent and pay £30 delivered for a massive square bale which is equivalent to about 15 small bales. i had 8 ponies last year and went through 2 bales a month, and still had grass. this year i have 5 horses from 11.3-15.2 and have 5 extra acres so im hoping to use about the same amount.
