Due to financial reasons partly because of Nadia developing arthritis in her hocks I'm really struggling to pay all the bills.
I'm having to turn Nadia out into a field behind my flat where I will not have to pay rent.
Muffin is only a yearling and although doesn't cost much to keep the stable costs are an extra charge I just can't afford at the moment.
The field that Nadia will go to is just not safe for Muffin, he will either be stolen or wound up by the kids that go there.
My last option is to sell him if I can but would prefer he go out on loan as a companion.
I'm devasted but need to find a good solution that will help and be good for us all.
Anyone here have any ideas??? Pics of the babe are in my album.

I'm sure he should be fairly easy to loan? If i was after a companion it would be just the thing. People want small cheap to run ponies as companions.

I hate being in this situation but as well as my horses having a good life, I also need to be able to live and not have to worry all the time.
I worry that turning Nadia out when she has just been diagnosed with arthritis is not a good idea but then I'm told that being turned out is good....but is this good in the winter??

Yes it is- my old boy had arthritic hocks and t/o was definatly the best thing- The movement kept him much more comfy.
When he was stabled even just for a day he would be noticeably stiffer. Rug her up well and its the best way to keep her.

Well, it's all sorted. Baby Muffin is going back to the stud I got him from just to go in her field for a while and Nadia is going in the field behind my flat with a couple of other horses. This is all happening at the end of the month.
I don't know how Nadia is going to take it as she likes to come into her stable at night.
The plan eventaully would be to get a field shelter that she can come and go out of but my finances do not allow at the moment so she'll have to make do with the superb amount of trees, like a small woods for shelter.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can make a shelter up cheaply?
