Well yesterday i had a lovely day with Ludo, our first day together and we hacked all the way to a show ground and did some practise jumps (im such a wimpy jumper so that was a big achievement on a horse id only ridden once!) and his owner did some clear rounds on him. So all was well then when i came up to bring him in for the night he got startled at something and ran into his stable over my foot! :(

I screamed and burst into tears, lucky OH was there to calm me down but being silly me i just carried on did everything i had to do and then drove home. Took my boot off, sock covered in blood n puss n just ergh, i basically already had an infection in my toe and this pressure made it go boom! lol mummy cleaned it all up for me i was such a wreck, it was agony all evening i could barely walk and just wanted to cry continuously.

Been to a&e today, toes aren't broken but very bruised and VERY swollen, on strong painkillers and double dose of antibiotics for the infection (looks like im gonna lose a nail too *shudder*) and have been told to stay off it till at least wednesday (oh shame no work!) but means i cant ride Ludo tomorrow :( wouldnt be able to put my boot on anyway!

Fingers crossed i can ride by Friday!! ah well ill just spend the next couple of days on here from the comfort of my bed :)

Heres a lovely picture of me and Ludo yesterday to stop the images of my manky foot!

He's so lovely!! I think his pacing (waddling :p) is soooo cute!! (I see me! lol.)
You did well making it all the way up there on your 1st day of sharing! He's a very sweet horse. And he went so nicely over those jumps for you :)

He looks gorgeous! However I don't think any picture of a pretty pony could get the image I've got of a crushed foot out of my head  :p

Oh hun I feel your pain!

If it makes you feel better, when Doey trod on my foot, I had rubber wellie type boots on. It really really hurt, but cos it was about -6 (this was last winter) it kinda numbed it. So what did clever old me do? Got on and rode for half an hour

When I eventually got home I got my boot off and YUK both toes she got were black as anything, and bleeding, and painful.

I hopped around for the next week or so, spoke to a nurse friend who said one might be broken but 'just get on with it' (thanks mate!) and things seemed to heal.

About a month ago (so roighly 6 months later) toe starts to hurt on the edge of the nail. On closer inspection, when she trod on me she pushed the nail slightly into the edge of my toe and it had grown down a bit...so I had to dig the nail out. YUK!

I now have half a toe nail on my middle toe. OH wont give me any foot rubs til it grows back as he thinks I am minging :o

Hope you are ok ~hug hug~
