Today I got a lesson from my friends share. She was a really good dressage rider back in Poland but doesn't have the cash to do it here so is schooling my friends horse.

She took a shine to Ritchie - apparently "he has lovely conformation":o - and decided she wanted to help me turn him into a proper dressage horse. Anyway, we had our first lesson today with her and it was AMAZING:D:D

She had us doing walk-trot stuff and I had such loose reins, she showed me how to use my legs more instead. The best bit was when she had to teach Ritchie to walk backwards - he had never done it before so when I asked him to he just looked so confused Bless

Anyway she used the stick and put it infront of him (didn't hit him before anyone gets excited!) and he understood almost straight away :D Next few times I just asked him and he did it straight away.

She also watched our canter and said the leap was because I always took up a really tight contact just before I asked for canter so she made me have really loose reins and guess what!!?!? Perfect transition:o:D

I loved all the dressagey stuff and Ritchie seems to enjoy it too so really looking forward to our next lesson. I'll try and get some piccies to apologise for the irrelevant post - I just am so proud of Ritchie:D
