Over the last few days I have taken the opportunity of training Rhi to walk and trot all the way round the paddock without stopping as I would love to take her to the Fence Houses Ride & Drive Club In-hand and Drive show. The other day she would go half way round the paddock and stop to walk, today we managed a full circuit and I think she was up for more :) Standing was her other problem she would stand the length way of the paddock but not the breadth. Tonight she stood the breadth :)

All I need now are the driving gloves as she is wrecking my hands :(

Roll on July :D

Brill, you pair are really coming along. I love driving, but sadly we just don't ahve the roads for a cart, or in other words my mum has put her foot down and said NO, Its too dangerous.
Oh if only I hadn't have sold my harness :( as we have our eye on a beautiful cart at the minute which we could have afforded and it fits perfectly.

Anyway, I'm glad that Rhi is coming along so well

Maverick I did a sad thing today. I went to look at a harness. It was a webbing one which you may know is much easier to look after than the leather. Unused, still in it's box. Everthing would have fit except the breast plate :( It was beautiful harness too. The reason he was selling was he had bought a 30" minature Shetland and wanting to drive it his daughter and wife went out and bought him a harness for his birthday. Unfortuantely it does not fit :D

Aww, thats sad.

My harness was cob size. It was a bit big for Maverick except for the bridle which was a perfect fit. He looked so gorgeous in it and loved his work. The harness was leather and I bought it for £80 and it was brand new. I wish I had kept it but i really needed the money at that time and got it sold for £100, so made a profit.

When i am older and can drive on country roads i really will start again because i love it so much.

He he he really well. Her driving has been spotless for the moment but her riding has been abismal the last few days. You would not think that has a rider having lessons on her at the moment. She is flawless with little Jennifer but my oldest lads friend came over yesterday and Rhi just would not behave herslef. She would not stay on the outside and she would not leave me alone :D I got on her and she was not wanting to stay on the outside and at the time I did not want to force as I was being rather naughty and riding without my hat which my younger sn had with him and he was not with us. I got off and put my sons friend back on and the next thing we knew was that Melissa was coming off Rhi (or at least she should have been) There she was clinging onto the fence posts and the saddle slipping further and further across Rhis back until it was practically on her side with her feet still in both stirrups  (so much for her non slip pad). Rhi being the clever girl she is just stood there and then decided to eat the grass.

Today she had her bath and was very good apart from when she moved towards me and splashed the wateer in my face  She was then wormed and put to bed. Not allowed out now until 4.oopm tomorow.
