Just a quickie update on my girl.

As you may know from previous posts she has been doing really well since her teeth were done and her new diet has started to kick in. So yesterday I took a couple of body pics to see how she has come along. I can't get my photo bucket to upload so put one of them on here to share.

I am really pleased with her at the moment. I think I have finally managed to stop the weight dropping off when I leave her rug off over night and this week she has been naked again!! Day and night!!! I will put her summer turnout back on when the temperature drops a bit more but for now I am enjoying seeing her be able to enjoy being out without being rugged up. At the moment we have had to hold fire on our stabling of all the ponies as my straw and hay can't be delived yet, not that it matters as the weather has perked up again.

Anyway here she is as of yesterday.

Does anyone think she needs a bit more weight or can I relax a bit now?

Thanks guys, she is aparently about 36 now according to my vet. We took to my other friends yard today and she has been put out on some lovely lush grass (the paddock on my other friends is nearly gone now so left the others on it!). She didn't look up once! Took her bucket feed in and it took a couple of minutes to pull herself away from the grass and eat her dinner! My hubby Karl came up today and he agrees with you all, thankgod! I was getting worried about the winter coming and not getting the weight back on but I think we will be fine now!

She has another lush paddock to come home to in a few weeks on my yard. I have put a paddock aside for my oldies till the stables are sorted out properly and my supplies finally arrive. Star and Kosha must hate the oldies as they aren't allowed on the good grass until the oldies have took the best stuff lol!

well she's going into winter looking good which is a major bonus, she's about the same age as my old boy was and i worried like mad about winter but actually it was fairly easy! good food and tlc works wonders.
I used Dodson and Horrell 16+ its great, was recommended by the vets to me and apparently for oldies nuts are better than mix as its already soet of part digested so they dont have to work as hard to get all the goodness out of the feed. (sorry you may already know all that:o)

Sadly sixteen plus did nthing for her as when we got her she was really bad and we had to get a special diet done between Baileys and our vet which has been brilliant. My other two veterans have had 16+ for years now (one is 26/7 and the other is 23). At the moment she is on Baileys no.s 1 and 4 (no.1 has been added to the diet in the past few days as the vet wants a bit more of topline coverage before winter sets in) but once her weight is back I am hoping she can have 16+ like the others but I probably will have to stay on the diet she is on for this winter now.
