But at the moment im suffering the pain of wisdom teeth- not nice but it got me thinking about horses and their teeth. No wonder a horse kicks off, is grumpy, wont eat, refuses to accept the bit, headshakes when theres something wrong with their teeth. The thought of having anything in my mouth thats like a horses bit turns my stomach as does the thought of eating! So I guess the point of this thread is get your horses teeth checked, my wisdom teeth are a painful reminder as to why horses need their teeth checking!

Have you got to have them removed? I had to have all 4 of mine taken out under general anaesthetic at hospital - not nice! I looked like a hamster for a week after!

Its good of you to relate your pain to your horse, I think if more people did that fewer horses would be left with painful problems!

I know, its awful isn't it? I always make sure our pair get theirs checked often by the vet - and rasped if necessary. Must be horrible if somebody is trying to get you to do stuff and shoving a metal lump in amongst them if they're sore!! Hope your wisdoms are better soon btw - bloody nuisance aren't they? Sometimes they don't necessarily need to come out - my OH has had for years a huge painful gum flap over his - and I get the same now and again - it gets inflamed. I usually gargle with mouthwash or salt water - does the trick.
