Why you should wear jods.... oh the shame!!

Today me and a lady up the yard planned a hack, just a short one as my horse is young and her horse is just coming into work.

So we was tacking up and one of the other girls decided to come along too as it was too hot to do anything strenuous.

I had been to the horse sales earlier on and was wearing cotton trousers so thought they will do for riding in for just a plod around the back of the farm.... or maybe not!

I jumped on and slung my leg over (knee doesnt feel safe enough to mount properly yet) to hear a massive ripping sound. Look down and my trousers had ripped, from the waist band right down to past my knee on my right leg :eek: The most awkward rip ever! So I quickly jumped off and showed the entire yard next weeks washing and what ever else was hanging out! :o:o

YO kindly borrowed me a pair of her jods so I could still go out for a ride and not stand there with my knickers on show :p Lesson learnt.

OMG I RIPPED MY JODS TODAY!
Within like 10 minutes of getting to the yard, there's like a pick up truck to collect poo in and i was sitting on the back and as i jumped down i heard a rip and i was like aaaah! and i had a massive rip across my bum and the top of my leg, and i had to stay like that all afternoon, and ride like that! oh the shame

If it makes you feel any better i recently bought a 'shewee' http://www.shewee.com/how.html as I have a bladder like a thimble and have to pee every 5 mins so thought it would spare my blushes. It quite specifically says practise in the shower but I chose not to (well only once) so I stood behind my shed, went for a wee, didnt have it pressed up tight enough and peed all down my leg!!!! Had to go home and get changed so didnt have time to ride! :o

Oh AnnaReeves - I've got one of them - I've never had the nerve to try it! My mum and I were doing a long distance walk and it seemed like a good idea - she peed all over her shoes the one and only time she tried it:D:D

I think thats another case for "baby steps" and plenty of practice:D

Reminds me of a time that me and some friends were staying at a B&B and we'd gone out for a walk before bed, me and my friend decided it would be a great idea to do cartwheels down the road. My friend did one and ripped her jeans...right down the inside seam. We couldn't stop laughing, we had tears streaming down our faces.:p

haha love it my jods never realy rip but i do find holes around the crutch area

ha that is brilliant, the most embarrassing thing to happen, at least you knew the people and can laugh about it. this happened me on a trampolene, but rip went from the back and ripped all along the seam to the front, i had to cycle 5 miles home and my friend couldnt even lend me a pair of pant cause there is a serious size difference with us. she is a 8 and im a 12:p

Haha, I was out on a hack with my friend once wearing leggings, because I couldn't find my jods. We went exploring in these woods but to get back on the road, we had to go through this tiny gap in the wall. I have a thing about tiny gaps due to being getting my stirrup caught and being dragged off once, so I jumped off her horse and lead him through, and I jumped off the wall into the road just behind him. I ripped the whole crotch and backside of my leggings and had bright pants on!

Had to hack home and every time I was doing rising trot with a car behind me I was blushing!

Im the same, i always wear jeans, i have several pairs of jenas which are torn at the crouch because of the friction etc from riding in them, wouldnt have it any other way though, love my jeans :)

I used to wear jeans when riding - until I spectacularly ripped the arse out of a pair while mounting up....
