Hi!,

After feeding my horse last night, she had a strange kinda noise coming from her throat, a bit like a burp. She did this twice, she had a funny look on her face and I was worried so I got her out and walked her in case of colic. She seemed fine when I put her back in the stable.

It was the first feed she has had with garlic in, could this be related?

Please reply as this was a very scary moment for a minute.

I wouldn't worry my old horse used to do what was just like a burp every time he ate, even though I don't think horses can actually burp, but that is just what it's like And I have noticed that my new horse has done it once or twice. So I wouldn't worry!!:p

It was the first time any of my horses have done that in 3 years of horse ownership. I'm still learning loads!:D

Thanks for replying, I love my horse so much, I do panic when I think anything may be wrong.

Yeah I know the feeling!! The first time I noticed mine doing it I asked my friend who had her horses at the same yard about it, she's also my riding instructor and she said that it was nothing to worry about and she knows of loads of horses that do it!
