Some of you may remember 'Inspector Morse' the young Welsh D that I owned when first joining NR. I then had a neck injury, nothing to do with
him I hasten to add, however he was VERY 'full on' and I decided to part with him thinking he would be just too high risk. Now I hasten to add he was never Nasty, just full on, very playful, but 'ground rules' were not really part of his understanding, no matter HOW you attempted to instill them.
As it happened he is still VERY full on, but an absolute angel under saddle. Its
on the ground his antics go to pot. The Lady I sold him to, Pam, backed him and in fact I posted pics not so long ago of him winning his FIRST Rosette;):)
Anyway I received an e mail and this is more or less what it said :)
'We have had a bit of excitement at the Yard, a Military Helicopter has come down in the field next to Morse, goodness knows what happened or how he reacted because this is what happened yesterday when I went to fetch him in.
There are Army personnel guarding the Helicopter and on going to fetch Morse in I have to walk him right past them. On approaching them with Morse one of them shouted 'Hey, is that the 'Tanned' Horse?
I shouted 'No, he is called Chestnut'. He shouted back 'Yes, but is that
the one we call the Tanned One?'. I saw him speak to another Guard and
they both looked, THEN RAN !!!!!!!!!!! On taking Morse back past them
later the EXACT same thing happened !!!
On talking to them later, once Morse was safely back in the Field, they
proceeded to tell me how he had chased them continually on the first day
they were there whilst they were wandering round the fields, and apparently
he had put on a 'good show' as they are all now petrified of him:p
Good Ol Morse, some things don't change:p He only wanted to 'Play';) The 'Tanned one' strikes again !!!
