I love Dubarry boots especially the clare ones, as most people have the other kind.
I'd do anything for a pair, they are so waterproof, wearing and comfortable but they are also sooo much money:rolleyes:
so does anyone recommend a cheaper alternative, same sorta style, just cheaper but not ones that are trying to imatate them, as I wouldn't wonna look like a wonna-be wearing fake boots:p

I got some from Ebay. They're similar in style by Wyre Valley, all leather, warm and waterproof. They were about £80. Great for walking and riding in.

I agree actually, about the Dublin ones, I thought it was just me mis-treating them! BUT, OH bought me apair in black as a treat a while back and I've been very kind to them but they've still gone rubbish and saggy AND a piece of metal came out from underneath them and now they have a hole in the sole! (Think the metal was something to do with their Rider Comfort system?!)

i think that value for money dubarrys are actually good - i go through shoes/boots like hot meals and they have stood the test of time for me - worked out cheaper than buying a new pair of cheaper types each year :D

How about the Dublin River ones?
I have River boots and i was in love with them, but, actually i've had them only about 7months and they are pretty knackered and the lining has done something funny in one boot which makes it really hard to get off- not great for boots which cost a fair bit.
I did complain to Dublin but never got anywhere- apparently they had never had problems with them before(!!!!!)- yeah right, I said i was surprised as everyone i knew had them and had them fall to bits " oh well yes there have been a few complaints"
Nice but DONT BUY- I'v been thinking about buying some Toggi ones, not sure of the style name but look nice!

Why not buy real Dubarry boots on Ebay. I got a pair the other week which had only been tried on at home - they came in the original box with packaging and were as new. I bought them for £120.
Obviously you have to wait until the right ones come up for sale but I'd really recommend the real thing. I wear mine every day (I run a yard) and must walk miles every day in all weathers. I get through a pair a year and I'm now on my fourth pair! I love them - totally waterproof, keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.

I have the rydale malhams. I have only had them since july but so far so good! They are very comfortable and roomy, protect my feet nicely when im microchipping at the races. Also keep my feet toasty when cold, and totaly waterproof! Can you tell i like them? :)

Oh I have just come back from a show where I bought rydale malhams. They are fab. I am pleased to read that they seem good. I did wonder at the price if they would be but hubby bought them for me and the furry socks to go inside them for winter.:D

If the boots are anything like the other Rydale stuff, some of the best value for money you will ever get.
My RI wants to steal my jumper, and all my polo shirts wash up lovely.
