Anybody got a rough guide? The zip on one of my long yard/riding boots bust this morning :( Need a rough estimation to decide if it's worth repairing, or buying some new ones?

Take them to the local locksmith person if he does shoes, I got one fixed on my gaiters for £10 last year

Sounds good, thanks.

I've been looking at new winter boots now as a result, and I'm fancying some new ones :o Not that I have any reason to if I can get mine fixed cheap enough...!

I concur with HJ, any decent cobbler or locksmith who can do leather repairs, should be able to do this for you.

If you have a look around either in the yellow pages in your area, you're bound to find at least 1 or 2 places where a cobbler advertises any repair work needed on all boots/shoes :)

I'm not sure what the going rate is now for repair work, but I wouldn't like to think it would cost any more than about £10/£15 :)

I've been quoted £25 to get a zip replaced on my Mountain Horse High Riders. Local cobbler couldnt get the right zip:(. This is from MH's main agent in GB.
