Well, after much heartache and soul searching I have decided that Fern and I aren't right for each other.

Fern will be going to a riding school near me where I learnt to ride, and I know and trust the owner, which is nice as I can keep in touch and always have a lesson on her!

In return, I am getting a horse from the riding school. He is called Yettie, and is a 15.2 shire x irish cob. He was pulling a cart in Ireland until about 2 years ago. He is hairy and has full feather and is a real character.

I am looking forward to riding bareback, seeing my OH riding him and smiling lots, and sitting his nieces on a horse for the very first time! All of which I couldn't do with Fern, and I realised that was what I wanted. Also hoping he will help me regain my confidence and smiles!

Sorry, self indulgent pointless post, but everyone has been so supportive I had to let you know!

Hi Ya

You got Fern around the same time I got Grace and I remember reading your threads thinking Im glad Grace was still nice and quite and not jumping out of the manage with me (hope Iv got the right horse :o)

Im sure it must have been a hard choice for you to make and not one you have taken lightly.

It will be nice that you can still see her and its sounds like you have a lovely well matched horse coming your way, good luck.

I will look forward to reading your future threads :)

THank you! You have the right horse! It really hasn't been a decision I've taken lightly, and it hurts me inside, but I am sure this is the right thing to do.

I really hope this one works out for you, it's such a difficult but brave decision. Much better to change now, for both you and Fern, that way you can both move on.
