choked on her tea tonight, was awful! gunk coming out of nose and mouth, making funny noises she didnt seem to be able to clear it so I called the vet, 5mins after id put the phone down she did a massive cough/neigh/fart and cleared it! I still had the vet come over to check her over- nothing wrong with her! needless to say she wont be having that mix again, sloppy food from now on and dentist is coming. Horses eh???

It's very scarey when they choke.More often than not they manage to clear it themselves but when they start to get panicky because they can not clear it it is quite awful to watch,not to mention the messy gunk that ends up everywhere.

Yeah but we all learn by these things and it just a part of owning a horse, better safe than sorry eh

It can be really scary when that happens but thank goodness she managed to clear all exits.
