Does anyone know of anywhere where you can donate old rugs? Do places like the ILPH or bluecross take them? and do they have to be cleaned etc?
Have a garage full of rugs that are too small

They don't need to be cleaned, as a sanctuary, any rugs that we receive are either cleaned by ourselves or if we have loads to do, then they get sent away. If any rugs don't fit our horses we either store them away for potential newcomers or sell them at sales etc to try and raise funds.
We would be very grateful for any rugs but as we are miles away why not look into any local small sanctuaries? You'll probably be surprised with whats around, lots of people drive past us every day and don't even know we are there. :)

Its a shame you're not nearer to Leeds.
I had a search for horse sanctuaries in Scotland and found a couple but I'm not sure if they are near you.

Its really kind of you to consider donating them to a sanctuary, I know that wherever you send them to will appreciate them. :)

Why not ask The Society For The Welfare Of Horses And Ponies?
If you "Google" SWHP, all the contact information will appear. Thank you.

Our local RDA centre takes rugs and is always grateful as they are quite low on funds. Is there one near you?
