Now I would actually like people to reply to this thread....
I was just wondering if any of you have your horses clipped and perhaps have had a little design put on them somewhere? For example one of my girl friends has a love heart clipped into her horses hind leg..
It looks pretty nifty.. do you have this? Do you know someone who does? Any got any pictures? :D

I used to clip a lot of horses and ponies and the ponies all used to get hearts or stars or the kids initials on them.
It was good when nobody else did it but now they all have it so its a bit cheesy.
I personally wouldnt do it on my horse but its a bit of fun for kids:D

She is our pony and it took my daughter about 3 evenings work to do the entire job. It was done for a promotional pic for my website, but it grew out within 6 weeks as it was done early october. It was very well received at the shows we took her to as most appreciate that it is only a haircut ;)
There is a gallery on my website if you want to see some other designs I've done (even a paint design for sheep :D )

Oh no, I might not be a great fan of designs on horses (although your starry pony is gorgeous:D) but I really fancy having my sheepies painted:D

Her fur was really short when we did these as I clip her early... they look much better when the horses have a bit more 'fluff'!

I once saw a horse with a full clip who then had a design clipped out even further - the stencil was shorter hair then the clip. Any ideas how to do that? It gave a more subtle/hint of a stencil effect.....

You use little trimmers / mini clippers and probably a medium / coarse blade on the big clippers that you gave the full clip.... or you clip the horse, leave a week (or so) and then you clip the stencil out.

This is a clipping design I revised a few weeks ago from a fairly complicated one I offered last year.
One of my personal favourites :)

oooo.... I think Flash might like a lightnight flash on his bum... then again he has only just started growing his coat again after the stress of issolation caused it start falling out so i might leave him wooly for a while!!!

Freehand hearts are the only thing I can do, I struggled with stars last year, but might try it again this year! Flo has hearts again though!
