Animal Planet - Horse with Cellulite

Does anyone else get Animal Planet ? (Discovery Animal channel)

I was watching one of the animal rescue shows the other night and they had a horse that was so fat that you could see enormous rolls of fat and giant lumps of cellulite on its sides. When you first saw it from a distance you thought - fat little welsh cob stallion, but as they got closer you realised that not only was it a mare but that it was quite fine boned but incredibly fat.

Disappointed that although they said that it would suffer from heart disease etc that they didn't mention laminitis and that they proposed swapping from lucerne chaff to oaten chaff, when it was standing in a field of grass.

I watch animal planet all the time. the cop shows are the best, cause they save poor defensless animals...:)

I've seen more than one fat animal on that show, the worst was a poor corgi who was too fat to walk. the owner freaked out when she was told her dog was too fat and the officer asked her to call it, poor little thing couldnt' manage to get up of it's pudgy belly to go over to the woman, her excuse? "Oh he doesn't feel like comming now"

I can't stand fat animals, it's a pet peeve of mine, a little fat is one thing, but grossly overweight is disgousting.

I have a picture in my vet book of a pony that's grossly overweight, and because of it he has laminitis and those same fat deposits all over his body...yes it is cruel to have animals that fat...grrrrrr...
