I found a sharer for Colly, yeah.
On the weekend 2 people were coming to see Colly to try him out to share. One unfortunately did not turn up (all a bit strange but I won’t write more on a public forum) anyway a lovely 15 year old and her mum turned up to try him. I had ridden him back from the field (my first weekend riding since I fractured my neck) and they un did his girth to check his reactions as well as pick his feet out etc.
We went down to the ménage and I walked trotted and cantered round for a short time (my muscles are still very sore and Colly was being quite lazy after his 4 weeks off) She got on and walked trotted and cantered before we put up a little jump.
He refused! Just to prove me wrong by saying he has never refused with me! She got him over it and wasn’t in the least bit fazed by him.
As the other person hadn’t turned up I invited her mum to come on the hack with us if we could find her safety gear that fitted. Luckily my hat fitted her perfectly and my boots too.
We had a lovely gentle hack to the common. We then had a canter and a gallop (Mischief decided putting his head between his legs and snatching the reins was order of the day, rah)
She then popped over a few logs on him and took him off for a blast on her own to prove he could leave a group (good pony, he came back with the equivalent of a big smile on his face) She has hunted with our local pack in the past so is looking forward to going out and meeting up with her mates. She wants to try a bit of everything which is great.
So we have drawn up a share contract which her mum will sign and she starts this week.
:D
