If you sell a horse part way through a policy do you have to pay the remainder of the premium if you pay monthly?

I think you'll need to ring and ask - different insurers may have different rules. I amended a policy (to make it much cheaper) partway through a month and they reduced the fee immmediately. That was Petplan.

I think for most insurers it depends how many months through the policy you are, so that if it's within the first month they refund x amount, 1-3 months you'll get y amount etc. Sometimes they say that if its been longer than, for example, 8 months you don't get anything back
Definitely depends on the insurer though.

You will probably have to pay a cancellation fee

Thats exactly what I want to do rather than cancel it. I have Tarragon insured for far too much, im only a month into the premium with NFU so ill give them a ring and ask.
