Jethro met the vet for the first time yesterday. At 19 weeks he had his flu/tet jab and was microchipped.
I held his favorite garlic horslyx and leadrope in one hand and held the sidepiece of his headcollar to screen what the vet was doing.
He was a star - hardly a flinch at the jab and then just a twitch as the big needle went in.
Vet (who calls Jethro's mum my "wild horse" as she was pretty much unhandled when I got her as a 12 year old) was very impressed too. Although I hadn't booked a vetting ( and didn't pay for one) he gave him a proper check over and said he will sign if I need to up the insurance.
Even better, Jethro is still speaking to me and came cantering up the field for his tea and a cuddle last night.
Now I need to think of a registered name for him:confused:
"Jethro Still" is favorite so far.
