am i too big?

Hi,

I need some advice!

I have been offered a tb mare 15.3 quite chunky for a tb to be honest, may be a 1/4 ID. she is 10 years old and well behaved but I am used to riding 16.1 plus, I am 5'8 and 14 stone, I am a gentle experienced rider, is this too big for a 15.3 tb?

I would apreciate your opinions!

I wouldn't say you're too big. I'm 13 stone and ride a 14.3hh.

I have to agree with the above, I wouldn;t have said that you're too big to ride the mare. Go and try her, am sure she'll tell you if she's not happy!

thank you peeps! have made me feel heaps better!I am slightly excited about the prospect of a mare that was sold for £30k as a baby but didnt like racing so was then used as a brood mare and now bought back in to work...and she is being offered to me for £600! exciting! x
