this happens all the time; do your horses come and deposit a steaming pile of droppings at your feet, when you are picking up droppings or cleaning out the stables? all of mine have walked across the field especially to deposit a load at my feet when i do droppings, ditto, just after i muck out ( as i keep my stable doors tied back so they can free range - they will literally come in to do the dirty; i have never figured out whether they are being helpful, or really taking the "p" !!

Maybe they just get the idea in their heads when they see you muckpicking? :) Like when we hear water dripping?

Appearing with a skip and fork seems to work on Harvey's digestive system too!
Grace and Eggwub love to decorate the yard when they're over for a brush. As it's the students and stable helpers who poo pick their paddock, I don't consider this at all helpful. They might wait until they get back.
A friend's horse is really helpful, though. He waits until his bed is finished, then gets himself ready for a wee, but waits till you've put the skip in the right position to catch it. The beauty is that it doesn't splash as it would with an empty skip, nor does it mess up the bed.

when I poo pick my youngster will come over and poo - now I take it that she's saying 'here slave do your job' lol I can usually catch it straight in the skip so she does actually so me a favour.
