Lets Talk..................................... SHETLANDS:eek::D:p
OMG Egbert Macmuffin will cause me to have a heart attack, lol.
He is the naughtiest/cheekiest Pony I have ever come across. He leads
Sioned astray, he really does. I find the pair get up to all sorts of things that I know she would NEVER do on her own, quite honestly, shhhhhhh, she isn't THAT intelligent:D
But HIM, OMG he is far too intelligent for his own good. I am convinced it was HIM that first jumped the electric fencing to get to the grass and she followed.........she had never done it before he came.
I am convinced it was HIM who undid all the ties on the tarpaulin that is covering the hay shed, I honestly don't think it would of even occured to her;) Its quite a LOW shed so I don't think for one minute she would have ventured inside, especially as it is now almost full of hay and straw so I am convinced it was HIM who went in and knocked down the FOUR bales of hay they had then somehow dragged into the field opened and spread and were stood knee deep in the stuff when I arrived, well HE was:p
It is HIM that I have to keep an eye on whilst poo picking, he 'watches' me
and as soon as my back is turned he is off to my 'tack' room, its suprising how fast those little legs can move when he thinks there may be food about;)should I have left the door unlocked or slightly ajar HE is straight in there. I caught him coming out with almost a full pack of RICH TEA BISCUITS the other day, lol.
He looks soooooo ANGELIC but is, infact, a total little SH**:p

Oh sound like you need eyes in the back of your head!! If he was a child he would be the one in the naughty corner, you would be the mum getting the phone call from the teacher. Sounds like grey hairs wont be long coming!! I can just picture him with all that hay around him. Sounds like he will soon be getting an horsey ASBO!! LOL

Just looked at Sioned's pictures, she is lovely!! Cool picture of you going under the motorway bridge! Guess that must get them used to traffic noise. Have you got any of the little monster??

There are a couple on a thread somewhere called 'Introducing....
Egbert Macmuffin. Don't know why but once I have posted them it never
lets me post them again, I will see if I can find another or copy one:D
The motorway bridge is actually on my Friends Farm, where we were before the Yard we are at now. She was certainly used to walking under the bridge, lol, now I have to get her used to walking over a really 'narrow' one:eek: Thanks for your comments about Sioned, yes, she
is lovely, ALWAYS Bum High, lol, then catches up and up that Bum goes again, lol. Be interesting to see what she matures at.

Here he is, lol, see what I mean about 'angelic'. He has grown a bit
since here with much more mane and tail. In fact his tail touches the floor now and his Mane makes him look like Tina Turner, lol. Must get some up to date pics of the pair of them.

They are all the same - can't help but love them:) Even the Judge in one of his classes called him a Thug! another one called him Arnie! too polite to call him a little s**t, He has improved away from home, but he still rules the yard and fields:rolleyes:

lol, so does Bertie, totally rules Sioned, she puts up a good argument now
and then turning into a typical squealing female, but he always wins the
day.
I would have absolutely 'no worries' about turning him out in a field
full of big Horses, he thinks he is a 16hh Racehorse anyway, (he has 'small man syndrome')as long as none of them had shoes, he could hold his
own:rolleyes::D

If anything like Acorn, they'd have to catch him first, Our little welshie can't understand how he can be galloping after him and hes still at the otherside of the field:confused:
still wouldn't be without him, he's certainly changed my life for the better.

Well what do you expect with a name like Egbert MacMuffin (I love it!) he was bound to be trouble with a capital 'T' :D:D
I don't think it's physically possible though to stay cross with a Shetland for long .........

I totally understand where you're coming from..........my big girl has always been a bit greedy/bolshy but you definately wouldn't call her a bright spark but now she's got her partner in crime (Kitty shetland x) they've been in allsorts of trouble jumping in n out of fields hunting for grass...........even though kitty refuses to jump under normal circumstances and clover is off work lame!!!
They think they're hilarious.........I've nicknamed them the Kranky's!:p

I was just about to start a thread about the day Ive had due to my mini shetland when i saw this one so thought i would tag it on.
Had a bit of a nightmare today – Rosie and I went for an amble round the farm – as we get back at around 5.45 so nearly dark, i open the gate as usual and as we are going through little shettie Cassi lifts her head, spots the open gate, charges out and starts trotting off up the lane!!!! Little ****!!!!!! I jump off Rosie, leave her to her own devices thinking Ill just grab her and be back, shut the gate behind me and start my treat rattling, kissy noise, come to mummy routine. Little git just kept running until she reached the riding club field at the end where she galloped up the field! I have had this pony nearly a year and I honestly have never seen her move so fast, not even when the big girls spook - she was really going for it!
I knew there had been a show there today and I really didn’t know if the gate was shut. My heart was absolutely pounding at the thought of what was about to happen. Im hurrying along, trying to keep my energy low and not appear really stressed whilst getting my phone out ready to call the police to say there is a loose horse on that really busy road just as its getting dark! Plus there is a yard there and they had spotted her so two ladies standing in the corner, watching me trying to catch this galloping mini Shetland!!! I went for the reverse psychology bit, stood in the opposite corner of the field and sidled backwards until the lure of treats caught her eye as she trotted past! I stuff her full of treats so she thinks being caught is fabulous and we march home.
In the meantime my field neighbours have arrived, seen Rosie all tacked up wandering round the field – no sign of me so they are convinced I am dead in a hedge and are frantically looking for me!!!! Bless them!!!
And then as i am leaving i am driving through the gate when I see the little monster hurtling for all she is worth down the field to the open gate. In my panic I had pulled out too close to the post so I have to squidge my belly between my car and the fence post to get to the gate before she gets out - only trouble with this is the gatepost has barbed wire wrapped around it and I now have 3 gouges across my belly!
Im going to price up some fencing for a 'corale' area tomorrow!!!!
The worse of it is, she has just been lulling me into a false sense of security all this time by being all quiet and cute - i kept waiting for her to get cheeky and she never has - always been very respectful - she was clearly saving it all up for today! The only real sign of trouble to come was the fact that I have caught her inside my shed several times after treats and food - she didnt care that she still had her muzzle on - she was gonna have a blooming good go anyway!

Phew what a nightmare!! Thank goodness everything turned out ok in the end (apart from your belly) and you werent found dead in a ditch or head first in a bush. Think the idea of the corale is a good idea. Dont you just love your shetties!!!

Hey he looks just like my monster.... Harry Houdini - 'is he a pony or a bloomin' mountain goat!' He gets over, through and under hedges, walls, fences etc. And he is FABULOUS. :D I love him to pieces but he is giving me gray hair! He's just over a year now. Bless him. Hurray for Shetlands. People on the yard don't get why I have them. They keep asking me 'what are they FOR'. (So rude!) I say 'comedy value and entertainment'. Love love my shetlands.:p (The grey & white pony is Heidi).

annareevesO....omg what a NIGHTMARE, lol.:D
But thats what 'THEY' do, they look all sweet and innocent and lead you
into a false sense of security, its all part of their 'master plan' lol.
When Bertie is caught doing something, he just STANDS THERE, he doesn't look at you and doesn't move. I am convinced he thinks if he stands still
you cannot see him:p
If I am sat in my tack room having a cuppa, he will inch his way in, he knows
its a 'no go' but gradually creeps in, once in he just stands there and looks
at me as if to say 'yeah, you gotta a problem'. I cannot help but laugh and
then I am on a total loser, as soon as he hears you laugh he just KNOWS he
has got away with it and then starts to take the mickey by trying to help
himself to my biscuits:rolleyes: But, god help Sioned if she thinks 'oh we
are allowed in' he won't let her, hes all head tossing and warning and if she
then has the cheek to try to squeeze in he rushes backwards at 20 miles
per hour and 'double barrels her' in the top of her LEG:eek::p
However, they are obviously close cos they share the stable, thro' choice as the door is always open. I caught them the other morning, both curled up, she lies on the left, he lies on the right, you can tell by the markings in the straw, AND he stretches right out, lol.
Now neither of them POO in the stable, but, I have noticed that when I put new straw in he goes in and WEE's. But, on HER side:eek::rolleyes::p
NEVER, on his own!!!!!

if i told him i was laffing at shetlands he'd go on a little rant aftr ours bit him on the bum when he was poo picking and then ran to the otherside of the feild and stood and stared at him like it wasnt him and butter wouldnt melt in his mouth.

Today I let them both out on the grass. I then started the 'poo picking'.
I could feel Bertie watching me, sure enough over he came, which in itself is quite unusual, HE is usually stuffing his face.
HE stood right by me, by the wheelbarrow and was snuffling my hair, HE was
then sniffing the poo in the barrow and attempted (I say attempted because
I moved ''very'' quickly) to snuffle my hair again:eek:
Now I am lucky in that they both tend to go in the same place, so a barrow and a half later I had cleared that particular spot and then went off to clear some other bits around the field.......HE came with me, still sniffing everything AND trying to snuffle my hair, lol. HE watched me empty the last wheelbarrow load and go back to the stables, HE was still following, HE then watched me put the wheelbarrow away.
HE then went straight back over to his patch looked me straight in the eye and did the BIGGEST pile you have ever set eyes on, I swear, HE looked at me and LAUGHED. I am getting paranoid, I swear all the snuffling, following etc., was JUST so HE could have that moment:p
HE then took off across the field to be with Sioned:p
