So as promised I went down to field armed with camera (even bought new batteries this morning,so you can't say I don't make an effort for you lot;):p),new lad was still in one piece as was my fencing which was a relief!!
I brought new lad up to the gate for a groom, and although very wary,he was very good, and is actually easier to manage than my other one (aka the tank:rolleyes:),just a slight touch to get him to move around me etc, really, really responsive to what you want him to do,and so gentle with it bless him.Even when having a 'moment' from all the scary new things,he still listens to me,and looks to me to see what to do which is a great start I think.
I'm afraid no amount of grroming is going to make him look clean,he is filthy!! I am desperate to bath him,but too cold now,so you will all have to excuse the 'off-white' look:o
Am still not 100% on a name for him,so all suggestions welcome, but I do want it to be spotty related is poss.
Hope you like him,I know spots aren't everyone's cup of tea,not mine really either, but he is quite pretty for a spotty I thought, and has a lovely sweet nature it seems, which is a change for me as my Jack, although brilliant to ride and handle etc,is not at all affectionate or cuddly, and about as sweet as a bulldozer!!

Thanks for the nice comments folks,he really quite cute actually, and I'm not normally a fan of spots TBH,but I quite like him,and his nature is so lovely, just a little timid at the mo,but he'll get there I'm sure.

Actually Domino is top of my list at present, but I'm just not 100%,and want to get the right one,but am struggling to find spotty related names!!
Freckles is cute, but lady I bought him from had a mini spotted, called that and has put me off a bit,as was a bit of an odd looking pony!!
Mancha I quite like, will add to list:)
All I will say about Jack looking 'cute' is that appearances can be deceptive;):p

Haha true, it's the same with Wren she looks adorable and tbh she is, but sometimes she can be a real devil  so is slightly deceiving at times, she's just a bit bigger than Jack at about 16hh :o they could be bf/gf :D

Jack is good as gold in every way to be fair to him, brilliant at his job,and the most bombproof horse I've ever met. He's just a bit grumpy lol,not really interested in being 'cute and fluffy' with people unless there's food in it for him, then he'll do handstands for you if you ask him to:rolleyes::D
He probably wouldn't be interested in a girlfriend, unless she brought him food of course:p

Yes this is part of the reason I even considered him,he doesn't have that pink mottley skin all round his face, eyes etc,I really don't like that look (no offence to anyone who has one with those features, just my funny ideas of what I like and don't like!!).His dad was an appy stallion, but mum was probably a native moor type pony, hence why he has some solid colour and a decent enough mane, again unusual in an appy type.Tail leaves a bit to be desired though, but maybe it will thicken up a bit,who knows.
I quite like the name Buttons:)
Aero is cool, but already know of a couple of spotted ones called that.

Wren is a tank when it comes to food haha! she's like "MIIINEEE" if she see's it. Quite fun though when she's at the bottom of the field, you shout her, show her the hay or feed bucket and then run, as she chases you :D fun times :o

Thank you ever so much everyone for the nice comments,he's not usually what I would go for but I agree there is something quite nice about him:)
Name wise,Buttons seems quite popular, and I mentioned it to my OH and he quite likes it,so maybe that is now top of the list, still not sure though, does it sound a bit too cutesy pony like??
he is lovely, whats his breeding?
I'm not certain of his exact breeding, but there is a lady in Cornwall who runs an appy stallion with a load of moor type mares,so dad is known but mum could be any one of them!!

Sorry hun,I thought I did mention he was spotted, but maybe I was living in denial as don't usually like them much (in fact I think they were one of the breeds I listed on the 'breeds you would never own' thread:o)

To add, I think I would just let your OH name him whatever he likes. If you dont he'll just call him what he wants anyway and then you'll end up with multiple names like my mare! Her name is Golnessa, previous owner called her Nessy and I'd always called her Ness. Then OH suddenly decided her name should be Ruud (he's a big football fan) So now she gets called both, and it's all a little confusing!

You are probably right, besides it will make him feel a little bit important, and as he does help me a lot,and put's up with all the expense and mess that comes with having horses,I guess he deserves something lol:p
He is ADORABLE !!!! I just love him (don't tell Jack!!!!) Hi looks sooooo cute! I can't wait to come and meet him.
Jack is already being suitably posessive with 'his humans' (doesn't even like us much normally lol,but seems determined new one won't have our attention!!),so will be sure not to tell him you like new one as well;).
We will arrange something soon hun,how about this coming friday before your lesson if weather is good??
No absolutely not, don't panic! Just love him and wandered if she had any more!;)
Phew, that's good, although TBH there wasn't a lot she could have lied about,as he hasn't done much in his life at all!!
Am sure there are a few more similar roaming around the moors in Cornwall if you fancy one, could perhaps just go and round one up,they might not notice;)
On a more serious note she actually sends most of them to the sales apparantly,my lad was at the sales on his own at 4 months old,and that's where lady I bought him from got him.Said she felt sorry for him,and she thought he looked very cute with his spots and sticking up mane!! (He was very cute to be fair, have pic of him on front of his passport as a foal, all spotty and fluffy!!).
He's lovely. I vote for Mr Buttons.

I did think that about the mane (tail is not so good unfortunately, but better than some I guess),he actually has quite a nice mane, but I think mum was a bit native type and maybe has inherited that from her, along with a bit of stockiness and a decent fluffy coat, which is just as well as he has to live out!!
Do you know why they often have such rubbish manes and tails?? (not sure about coat,do they normally have thick coats or fine??),I know it's a breed trait, but was wondering if there was an actual reason for it??
Your lad looks very sweet (if a bit suspicious in that pic lol),mane looks kind of cute all stuck up like that, but I can see why you hogged it,as does look a bit thin.

It really isn't easy to think of a spotty name is it??!! I guess it doesn't have to be spot related, but I just thought would be nicer and more relevant if it was.

I have no idea why they have silly manes and tails :o, but as for the native type, my Hector has a huge amount of Shetland in him but still ened up with a ridiculous mane. He also doesn't really grow much of a winter coat, I know it's come through when he has hair on his muzzle

Daisy roots-Oh dear about the shetland thing,he obviously didn't inherit the useful shetland traits like a mane and winter coat!! Strange really as shetties are really hairy as a rule, would have thought your lad would have at least got a bit of fluffiness from his shettie genes!!
As for the hogging,am not usually a fan,but have to admit it is an improvment in his case as his mane was so wispy, love the little tuft of forelock:p
