View Full Version : 3 Stables Required - Essex

Does anybody in Essex know of 3 stables that would be free on the weekend of 7th November 2009.

My thread yesterday explained my predicament regarding my neighbours, who are having a FIREWORK EXTRAVAGANZA, in their garden which is only 60 metres from my stables.

I cannot leave my horses in their paddocks as they are still too close.

I am desperately seeking 3 stables and will pay whatever it takes!!

It must be stables as I would not risk leaving them outside over the firework weekend.

Please someone :)

perhaps you could tell us what part of essex you are in as its quite a big place and then we can narrow down who is near you and they can make suggestions

:)

I can't help with the stables but you have certainly made the correct decision. Your horses safety is the most important thing. Have you contacted local livery yards or riding schools? You might be able to get the use of some good facilities at the same time. If you can make the most of the situation and have a little holiday it might make you feel better about the situation.

I think I may have found some 5* accomodation for them.

I think with all the facilities they have, I will wish that my horses could stay full time, but I don't think my credit card has a big enough limit :D

Good for you, very plessed you have found somewhere, and will now have some peace of mind:)

Don't forget though to lean over the fence or 'gatecrash' the party, looking all smug as you rain on their parade;)

I think I might obtain some stink bombs and throw them over the fence :D

Someone mentioned putting muck heap just behind their fence but I already have one behind fence and they have said before that they can't smell it, so no use really.

Perhaps you could light the muck heap and have your own smelly bonfire!

Send the neighbours the bill for the livery :D

I've already thought of that one. Livery and transport (don't have my own at present) is costing me a fortune!

I'm having to put them in full livery as with two children it would be a nightmare doing DIY.

Do you have a 4 X 4 that can you tow a horsebox? We have one you could borrow for the weekend if you wish, rather than rent one, and as you know, I'm only down the road from you. It's big enought to take 2 X 18 handers, but would mean 2 trips for you, might help a bit with costs a bit.

Thank Maggiemooo, that's another very kind gesture.

If OH is around to tow that would be a good option. If I have to do it myself I might crawl into a hole :o Trailering freeks me out. Especially with my brute of a cob who bangs and throws himself about in it

Went to visit livery this morning and they have changed their minds.

Said it would not be economical for them as a short term thing :mad:

So am still looking if anyone know of any free stabling.

I'd make it rain that night - hose pipe or sprinkler right over their fence!

Rain does not seem to stop people from trying to set them off anymore.

No our farmer (owns farm) has decided to have a firework and bonfire display... Silver has been going out in proposed field and he hasnt even told me about this as its invitation only :o

My horse in the same field argh!!!!!! Shes coming in dont worry, but still uneasily close... If I am not working I might be having a very long grooming/cuddle sesh that night!!!

I dont see the attraction of fireworks - may as well just burn your money, I think they should be at displays only.

Thank you very much. You guys on here are all so generous and it's lovely to see. Hopefully we can all do a meetup soon, it would be lovely to see you all.

I have managed to find some stables at my old RS. They will take my 3 for 3 nights over the firework weekend on full livery so I do not have to juggle kids and horses and travelling, which will be great.

I am hiring a lorry so I can travel all 3 together as I know my TB will panic if travelling to new yard and if he gets there with only the pony but his best friend, big fat cob, is not there, he will go beserk, so will be less stressful all round.

The big fat cob has to travel alone in trailers cause he won't travel with partition lol.

Thanks guys xx

I really don't understand YO/farmers etc having firework displays near the horses.

Totally mindboggling
