I can only say good things about them! I LOVE Robinsons, despite some people saying they're not that good.
Their own brand (Requisite) is reasonably priced and hard-wearing. Its quite "no frills" stuff, but hey, at the end of the day, I'd rather have 10 pairs of comfy, no frills jods that I don't mind getting horse slobber on, than one pair of expensive ones that I am scared of spoiling!
Don't know about their rugs, but I do know their branded rugs (like Rambo) are all very well priced.
If you ever have a problem with any of their stuff, they are brilliant on customer service. I have always been delighted in this respect, as I have a history (not my fault - honest!) of getting either faulty goods or wrong sizes etc etc. They are fab. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you.
I've used both mail order and visited the shop. And NO I don't work for them! I know it probably sounds like I do!!!lol.

I also love Robinsons, they have some great sales with loads of bargains,I ordered Tilly a heavy weight stable rug last Tuesday morning ,it had arrived by 9 the next morning and on top of all that it was £12 :eek:
The shop is well worth a visit too.I agree with Trewsers in that their own brand stuff is decent quality too:D
My advice is to SPEND,SPEND,SPEND ;):D

I've been using Robinsons for years and years.
Even now on export orders, they're not too bad at all.
I personally don't like the requisite turnout rugs - I found mine was badly cut and not waterproof at all, even despite proofing it several times. I just loathe velcro tailflaps too. I do have a towelling rug and an "old-style" antisweat rug which were cheap and cheerful. I personally always go for big brand names in rugs now, especially for turnouts. I do see the difference in quality.
I can't say I've ventured to any other requisite product than rugs though.
Otherwise they are very helpful by phone and by e-mail ;)

Do you use the same Robinsons as me? Cos I've found the staff incompetent and the customer service appalling, both in the shop and mail order. I rarely, if ever, buy anything from them now as they've been so bad. I've returned things for replacement, not heard anything, so phoned after about 3 weeks to be told my return was probably in a big pile somewhere because they get too many parcels to open in a day, but they get round to them eventually  They've always sorted it out in the end, but I wouldn't rely on them if I wanted something in a hurry.
Don't know what their own brand stuff is like these days - it used to be absolutely awful - I know someone who got through 2 stable rugs in one winter because they ripped so easily. They thought they'd got a bargain as their rug was half the price of mine, only 4 years of use later, my rug still looked virtually new and they'd probably spent a fortune. I've always considered the brand to be cheap, cheerful and pretty much disposable - not something I'd buy if I wanted quality or something that lasts.

I suppose it depends what you're looking for. I live near the Cannock store, but rarely go there. I go to a local saddlery for most of my stuff. I can be sure of the quality of the ranges she stocks, and she knows my horse, so can advise. And actually, she's usually cheaper too!

Pretty much what I was thinking :p, I'm fairly sure half the staff don't know what a horse is and I've found the customer care / courtesy / service to be non existant
They're opening a branch in Basingstoke.

I love the mail order, have used it a few times, it's always well packaged (sometimes too well lol) and arrives promptly in good condition. Mine would prob be coming from the Wigan branch.

I've never had any problems with Robinson's things, only when ordering online stuff isn't always in stock. I've had the requisite stuff and it's cheap but not nasty.

I like Robinsons :)
Only used mail order, but there are jodhs are comfy and fine quality wise. (also buy Sherwood jodhs from them which are fab)
Delivery is always quick, both requisite stuff is ok but budget therefore no frills and not 'best' quality but does the job, not keen on the shape of their own brand rugs as they never seem a good fit on any horse i've had but did use a stable rug for two years and never had any problems with it on my old pony.
I have had to return stuff before (wrong sizes) and it has never been a problem, refunds or alternative always sent quickly.
Their kids clothes are pretty good too.
BUT I have had big problems with Derby House's customer service before so swings and roundabouts I suppose.
9 times out of 10 I find ebay cheaper then robinsons but robinsons is cheaper then my local tack shop/s which are really expensive (in my opinion)

My boots arrived within 48 hrs-nice but not stunning, glad I didn't pay full price, very roomy round the toes, but tight as anything on the heel and very hard to get on.
I tried a friend's Requisite t/o on Beau today and it was going nowhere near fastening on the chest even tho it was a size too big!
I have Requisite needlecord jods-my favourite but too long (and I'm 5'10) and get in the way of chaps.

Its the Wigan store I go to - and they're always nice - sorry to hear that some of you have had negative experiences. I really cannot say enough good stuff about them. For instance one year I had some faulty boots which I couldn't get back to the shop to change / exchange and they said box 'em up and we'll sort - and they did, they sent me a credit note, no quibbles and I could take my time spending it (couldn't actually get to the store for various reasons for ages). The boots had been worn for a while (zips packed up). I just think they are very efficient.
