I love the 'look' of my Barefoot Cherokee, but I haven't actually ridden
in it yet;)

I'm not sure whether I would buy one, but if money were no object I would love to try out the new Quantum saddle I saw at HOYS. Otherwise, I don't think I could do better than my Spalding saddle.

I've not been looking for another saddle, so I don't know what £500 buys these days. We did buy a good second hand GFS Event saddle for £400 a few years ago, and were very pleased with it.

If money were no object, it would be a semiflex or a WOW. I also really like the native pony saddle company saddles, next year i'll be hopefully getting one for my welsh. I splurged on a Jeffries, and am rather happy with that aswell :)

£500 wouldn't buy any of those though, you'd need to quadruple it for my dream saddles

Yes some of the really lush saddles can cost a couple of thousand pounds. I really don't get excited about expensive saddles though, so I'll just stick to my Wintec :)

If I had a budget of £500 I'd look at the more expensive Thorowgood range, they're really well made, look nice and are fully adjustable for width, something far more expensive saddles still often aren't.

Thorowgood for about £450 if that helps.

If money were no object, a Cardanel leather GP-normally under a grand so not too bad, or maybe a Saddle Company GP.

I guess it depends on the horse, but I love my Kieffer Venedig. If I was looking for something around the £500 mark, and it suited my horse, I'd either go second hand or synthetic. I love the Wintec 2000, but it just didn't suit my horse.

I would love a new Bates eventing saddle - cos I have a second hand one atm which does not polish up well and has a screw thingy missing. Am ashamed to say it needs re-fitting at some point as madam's weight has fluctuated over the last 12 months. To be honest, I'd love (if money were no object) the lightest saddle poss (cos I am very weight conscious) and I'd love to be able to have it fit and re-fit as and when necessary without having to save up / count the costs!!
I do have a lovely Derby House saddle which is gorgeous to look at but sadly quite heavy - if only it were lighter...........
If I had a budget of £500 I'd prob end up with another Bates second hand (if I needed one)

If I were really really rich then I'd also get a dressage saddle for Storm. OH has one for Joe and its soooooo comfy!!!!!!! (I think its a Ryder and its splendid to look at).

If money were no object I would get a saddle fitter out with a variety of saddles and pick the one that I liked best - regardless of cost. I may end up with a cheaper one but then i would have more money for other fun stuff.

If money were no object I'd get a WOW. Hopefully they would be able to fit one to my odd shaped boy:rolleyes:. As money was an object I got a Freeform which still set me back just over £1000 by the time I got the pad:(.

I'd expect to get a reasonable second hand saddle for £500 or one of the better synthetics. I wouldnt expect a new decent leather saddle for that sort of money - and would be wary of one that was!

It wasn;t a case of what I liked best, it was a case of what fitted Joy best and the Thorowgood T6 3D Cob GP fitted the bill.

Unless she changes shape then I see no reason to change. :)
