Question in title! I made the executive decision to put ours out from 6.30am until lunch time - by which time, just about everything (including our telegraph poles) were blowing and wobbling:eek:! We brought them in, in thenick of time me thinks as it really started blowing a hooly down our way. There were doors swinging and banging (despite being hooked back) and I had a good check of the top boxes (extra baler twine needed). Kept 'em in for the afternoon - then they had a "play" for an hour in the school. I just daren't risk Joe re-injuring after last winter's shennanigans:( They seemed fine tho, not fed up and more than happy to stay eating hay nets.
This morning they appear to have not suffered any ill-effects they behaved impeccably going to their field:D
How did you all fare?

They did not look very happy at 6.45 yesterday morning when i went up field to feed them.. In fact i wasn't very happy either i got soaked!!!! The wind was so strong the bloody rain was horizontal:eek:
I then had a 70 mile drive up the M5/6 which was fun...
Got back later in the day and they were fine:) looks like another wet night tonight as well!!!

Yes, I think the forecast is a bit rubbish again! They are bonkers on our local radio station tho - this morning they said, "oh well, the Indian summer has come to an end"?! What?????! Its cold on the old ears too - I definitely need one of those hats with the ear-flaps...........

my day in the wind was pretty much horsefree, due to a leaking roof, a gate that had fallen flat on the ground where someone had backed into the post overnight, and then, when i finally got to bed with a hot water bottle on my feet, and a good book, the waterbottle burst, with a 2" split where the neck of it joins the bottle part, soaking my mattress and all of my bedding... and to think i always say i like the wind and rain!! not a day i want to repeat in a hurry.

The wind we had forecast for here today didnt really come to anything - so gave neds a chance to recover from the weekends wind, lashing rain and b****y fireworks.
Had cancelled farrier for JJ today because of awful forecast as he just isnt settled to well yet when its very windy. So re-arranged for tomorrow which now looks as though it will be high winds and rain we were supposed to get today!
Not to worry - practised taking him into the big barn today (he thinks its an abbattoir:rolleyes:) but was a very good and calm cobby so hopefully wont be naughty tomorrow when the metal roof is lifting in the wind whilst farrier tries to do him:eek:

Thats the thing with hot water bottles - when they burst, most unpleasant! I've switched to using those things that you put into the microwave - "warm Whiskers" and such - they are filled with lavendar and wheat, they smell a bit if you do them for too long, but they don't half warm your feet up (and they last ages too):)
