Hi! My new horse just gets eatin alive by flies, and I was going to start giving her garlic with her feed. Is garlic powder, the kind you buy for food, okay to feed a horse? I would think that would be the easiest to add to their food. Thanks!

Hi there, I am sure you would be able to get the garlic my friends us on there animals, it is bought from a chinese supermarket, and is dried sliced garlic. You just soak it for a few hours and give it in their feed. It is really cheap over here for a large bag.
The powder would probably work OK but to get all the antiseptic properties and homeopathis ones it woudl need to be the dried sliced or fresh. The powder has been too processed I believe.

garlic granules will work ok, i feed a sprinkle of granules every feed at first then build it up to the recommended amount, but every few days i feed minnie a clove of garlic as well, just for a boost.;)
