Today i said goodbye to my beautiful girl Patsy. She was ten years old, which is a good old age for a great dane.

It was very peaceful and i held her in my arms whilst she passed away at home in her own bed infront of the fire. Hardest thing i have ever had to do but it was the least i could do for my beautiful girl. She was the best dog. So gentle with the kids and loved her cuddles. She had ears like silky velvet. I loved her so much.

RIP Patsy

Sorry to hear about your loss MM, but I know it was something you've had to think hard about (I'm in a similar boat with my own dog) and you have always had Patsy's best interests in mind.

She was a fantastic age for a great Dane, and looks very pretty yet regal in that pic.

This made me cry. Sounds like a couple of us are in the same place. OH and I made the decision yesterday to have our beautiful Maggie PTS on Saturday. It's the right thing to do - she deserves the best from us - but that doesn't make it easier.

RIP Patsy.

So sorry to read this, it has brought tears to my eyes too. I remember the heartbreak only too well. They take up such a large space in our hearts, and although we miss them so much, the love we shared with them will always be there.

It was lovely that she went peacefully at home, you couldn't have done more for her. Sending you hugs at this awful time.

(((Hugs)))

She had a good life and was loved and cared for which is what every animal deserves.

Brought tears to my eyes though remembering having to go through the same as you but my boy was only a day over 2 years old. It is the hardest thing in the world to do.

You always have your happy memories of the times you have had together.
