Like my other post "Buying A Horse", I have to post a question for my friend who doesn't have a computer:
When she rides her horse, she leans to the right, in the saddle. What she wants to know is how can she tell if she's leaning, and how she can prevent it.
Thanks,
Maci :)

I also had the same problem and got advice from people on this message board. Tell your friend to ride bareback or without stirrups. This helps you feel more balanced in the saddle and she will be able to tell that she is leaning more to the right without stirrups. Tell your friend not to give up and even balance will eventually come.;)

Riding without stirrups and riding bareback is a great way to gain balance. Your friend may have a colapsed hip, which would make her lean to one side. If she works on keeping her hips even, then her balance will improve. Tell your friend good luck!

You could also reccomend that your freind wears a back support with the support bit down the side of her body as opposed to the back. Then, when she sits to the right or collapses her hip, she will feel the support sort of dig in, and will therefore become conscious of when she does it, and can correct it (hopefully! :) )

hello!
It could well be a postural problem, but it could also be a saddle problem. It may be worth gettting the saddler out to reflock the saddle and to make sure that the saddle is sitting level on the horse.
bye!
