Do you like my new avatar? He's an arab, not mine though *sigh* I'd be lucky if I could own a shetland. No I found the picture on google and edited it. Nice though.

rrrrrrr id luv to be one of 'those people' who really suit arabs!!

I just got my hubby to set me up an avatar- he's more techy than me. The picture is a 3/4 shire + 1/4TB called Giant from my riding school. He's a real gentle giant!:)

Flipstar - open them in a photo editor and look for an option like 'save -> as jpeg'. It should have a slider for 'quality/compression' make it 'low' and then go on to save to a NEW FILENAME. Compare the size of the original and the new file and you should find its much smaller.

You also often find the photos are HUGE on screen - which makes them big files too. Look for a 'scale' or 'size' option in your editor and make the image smaller too. About 600*400 pixels is usually a good maximum - your screen is probably about twice that size in each direction so the photo would be the same size as 1/4 of your screen. A good size for posting is about half that again 300*200.
