All you have to do is get the horse moving forward with lots of impulsion, but you don't watn the horse going too fast!!!! You want a nice, even, balanced pace, and if the horse doesn't balance for you then half halt. Then go through your poles, posting or in 2 position, it doesn't matter. Try to aim for the middle of the poles. DON'T look down at the poles, chin up and eyes straight ahead!

I painted my poles white with a blue stripe in the middle so Homie and I could both see exactly where to go. It works real well.

And FreedomStar is right... look where you *want* to go and not down at the poles. Along those lines, my daughter's instructor tells her to pretend she has an eye in her belly-button and to point her "belly-button eyeball" in the direction she wants Roulette to go... it works like a charm!

Do remember also to keep your hands well forward as you go over as the horse needs to be able to stretch out the neck, 35 degree vision and all that.

I watched the video clip of Paul Ebersole's Cavalletti II on www.horsecity.com. This helped me a lot. I just basically ignored the rails and looked up and kept trotting!
