My niece did a squad selection test for the under 21s Northern region teams back in April. She thought she'd had a really disastrous performance as Tavia was lame on the day and she had to ride Peri. No mean feat considering she hadn't seen the test before which elementary level, she hadn't so much as sat on Peri for over 6 months and madam is not the easiest to ride.
Neither of us thought any more about it as she hasn't been competing due to exams and horse being off work. Got an e-mail this morning to say she has been selected for the team for a UK-wide inter-regional competition (Scotland and Wales are sending teams as well).
Only downer is that she can't go as it is the weekend she starts University and I'm away already so she would be stuck for transport. Just really nice for her to have made it after such a cr*p year.
