I had a great time on Saturday. After 4.5 months of riding once a week, my hips are finally starting to react and on Saturday my feet didn't seem to be sticking out as much as before.
I took your advice and shortened my stirrups by a hole and I felt much more secure :D Thank you!!:p
I managed some nice 20m circles in trot. And I managed not to fall off when Leon spooked at the school wall  , leapt sideways and took off (though I'm sure that the look on my face must have been a picture hehe).
I have a great canter on each rein, and am feeling much more secure and I'm not thinking about falling off the entire time (only some of it)
And... I did some leg yielding, yippee,. OK, I know it's not such a great deal, but it was fun to do something new. Oddly enough I found it much easier at trot than I did at walk, but my instructor said that's the way with some people. At last something I could do pretty well without too much trouble!
Next week it's my holiday at the riding school (3 lessons a day), so hopefully I'll have improved by the time I get back. I'll also be doing a bit of stable management too, so after I've learned *how* to groom a horse, I'm going to ask if I can start grooming Leon after our lesson.
Hopefully I'll have lots of pictures, as the school offers a video, and I'm planning on having one for the first lesson, and one on my last lesson, so I can (hopefully) see the difference.
