Mixed fortunes yesterday.
Tavia did the elementary and medium music freestyle qualifiers. Finished 5th in the elementary - she was good techinically but must confess that it was only the second time I had ridden it with the music - and I've now decided the music is not quite right. The artistic marks were decent enough but not up to my usual standard. Overall, the marks were quite close - only 1% between 2nd and 5th, so that is quite pleasing.
To my amazement she finished 4th in the Medium (despite some rather weird judging). It was her first ever Medium test so I was not expecting anything. Some of the technical marks were not brilliant (our canter half pass didn't on the left rein!) but got very good artistic marks.
Advanced medium for Peri - test was OK but happened to have one of my judges from hell. Wouldn't have expected to win, but would certainly have expected better than 8th!
Advanced 100 - we finished second - by one mark, and would have won if a certain little beast hadn't ignored me in the tempi changes resulting in a 5 instead of her usual 7 or 8. Mummy will also confess to duffing up a simple change resulting in a 4 - so I guess you could say 'honours' were divided.
