So long as it's once in a while and not too fizzy a little bit of what he fancies........
My horse got drunk at the pub once. We took him to the pub in his cart and we bought him a pint of beer, which he loves, some other folk in the garden that night saw it and they bought him a pint....then the lady behind the bar came out with a washing up bowl and he was bought another few pints, in all he had about 5 pints.......   Now I know you must'nt drink and drive.....but it was the horse who was p1ssed! Had I been breathalysed I'd have been fine..... he was rolling all the way home.
He also used to get a bucket of milk and would wallop that back in a onner, you know a black bucket of milk, 3 gallons or so. We used to have a milk cow who produced just too much some days, if we left it out for the hens he would come along and drink it, in the end we just gave it to him. The vet was convinced he'd not be able to digest it and it'd make him feel ill and put him off....NEVER he loves milk.......and a washing up bowl of warm tea too!:D :D no sugar.

:D Wally.
Never given a horse anything really strange, except corn syrup. Its so funny when they lip it up! We gave it to a mare who needed medication from not having any teeth (Another story). She was licking her lips for 10 mins afterwards.

My horse goes to the pub and all she gets is onion rings and chips. Once she got a bowl of water to share with her friend Shammy and tried to throw it over him
Wonder if you can get charged for having a drunk horse that is pulling a cart

My Charlie will drink almost anything if I've got it, but is partial to a nice bit of ice cold white wine, and who can bame him with the lovely summer heat we've been having, have never got him drunk though.
The dog has been absolutely plastered though, he got behind the bar of the pub and helped himself to all the drip trays!!! he fell about every where and on the way home in the car, he fell off the backseat into the foot well and stayed there all the way home, and had to be carried into the house, next morning still got up at 6 am bright as a button and no ill effects.

Oh my, Wally!!
Thats so funny :D
Just watch it doesn't become a habit, feeding treats to horses often can cause bad behavior and argressivness. Its nice to treat your horses sometimes and I know a lot of people who feed their horses and ponies coke, crisps and pepsi! But you will usually find a horse is happier with his favorite flavoured lickit on the stable wall ;)

My old share pony used to like nothing better than chocolate - either the drinking kind or the chocolate muffin cake kind! Many a winter day did I loose my lovely warm cup of hot chocolate to Bren (left on the ledge whilst I was picking his feet out)!!! :D
Horses are soo funny sometimes - my friends' horse loves jaffa cakes - and got the orangey bit stuck on her lip once - it was funny watching her trying to get it off! :)

My filly drinks Pepsi (as has been apparent for the past month that I have had her piccie under my name). ;)
She sticks out her bottom lip to catch the pop and you can hear her slurp it. She will maul you for Pepsi!!!
My old gelding and I shared a chocolate chip muffin each from Tim Horton's every weekend morning, plus I would give him just a sip of my caramel macciato cappuchino. Hatter actually learned to hold a water bottle and drink it, just before I sold him back to his original owner.
Our blind broodmare will trample you if she hears the little plastic wrappers on the starburst (red & white pepermint candies) candies. =)
My aunt's gelding absolutely adores cherry Hall's coughdrops.
Our horses aren't spoiled, not at all! ;) Ha ha! :D

Mac will drink things just like the shetland in the first pic - he can manage plastic cups, cans or plastic bottles (I don;t let him have glass ones just in case). His favourite tipple is (predictably) apple juice :D

I've given Sugar a small sip of rootbeer before, and she liked it, but she hasn't gotten any more than that - a horse at a barn I worked at colicked badly because the owner fed him half a can of Coke.

Florida loved Diet Coke, used to steal mine all the time when I was in the barn.
I never knew it could cause a horse to colic - K&K did the vet say why it brought on colic?

No, I wasn't directly involved with the situation, the vet did say that it caused the colic but she didn't explain to me why ... I know that when I drink too much pop I tend to get a gassy stomach/intestinal ache, maybe it's the same for horses?

My horse Eclipse use to pick my can of coke up from outside the stable and pick it up in her mouth and finish it. I went to my partners mums house the other day and her horse Folly was drinking tea out of her mug.

Lots of the horses I know have been known to drink beer, and one horse even had a glass of whiskey on Christmas Day  ;) lol
From people I've spoken to, apparently guinness is the favourite
