Theres been a case of ringworm at our yard, as yet unconfirmed, but the yard the horse had visted recently has 5 cases.

The main problem is, I don't feel the horses owner is doing enough to prevent it spreading at our yard - as her attitude is one that if her horse has it then tough if everything else comes down with it

Our yard pretty much runs itself, so the Yard Owner will not lay down the law and insist the horse stays in its stable, or that the horses owner gets off her backside and disenfects the fields or her horses rugs etc., its been out in a different field opposite side of the barn to our horses and im concerned that in a couple of months time when our horses move to this field that theyre all going to come down with it

Does anyone have any useful advice to offer me?

I would be concerned too as the fungi can survive for a year on woodwork etc.
Can you talk to a vet or someone in authority who can make the yard owner and the horse owner realise that the horse needs to be isolated and all its gear etc fumigated. Maybe if a group of the other owners made a plea it might have more effect too.
What a frustrating situation:(

the problem is the horse owner & yard owner both live in the same house! and the horse owner, who has worked with horses for years should know better! but, and i know this may sound like sour grapes, but because the horses owner is living at the yard owners house with the yard owners son, its getting kinda personal! the woman whos horse has it basically thinks she is in charge and will do as she pleases!

I intend to have a word with the yard owner, when i see her on her own, and explain how worried i am for mine and the other horses! but one of the other girls on the yard, sneered at me when in said that the horse shouldn't be grazing in the other field, her response was its got to go somewhere!!! yeah like stay put in its stable tils its cleared up - which she thought was unreasonable!!

That's not unreasonable, the horse should be isolated. Ringworm is highly contagious & humans can get it too.
