Hi
I have Rosie, 5 months old filly who I have on an eqvalan worming program - every 7-8 weeks.
Our Livery yard has placed everybody on a Panacur 5 day guard regime starting 2 nights ago.
Normally Evee and the Rosie (foal) will share a feed bucket, but we have been vigilant in trying to keep the foal away from the wormer/feed. I think she has managed to get a couple of mouthfuls, but not much.
Tonight Rosie has the squirts. She's very windy and her legs are wet with the follow up dribbles.
Normally the pair of them would be outside in the field 24/7, but we have brought them in for 2 days to administer the wormer. They have been feeding on haylage.
Do you think that its the change of regime (ie haylage) that is perhaps a bit rich for Rosie, causing the squirts? She is still bright and is not off of her food. Reading the Panacur guidance, it does say that it can be given to foals, so I've not been unduly worried - should I be?
She is a big (13.2) robust filly. I've washed her legs, so that she doesn't get any 'burns'.
Advice appreciated.
Pam
