My pony has recently got a lump on the top of her foreleg, its quite hard and about 4cm big. It seemed to come suddenly, I thought it was probably a kick but it isnt going like I thought a kick would.

It isnt making her lame in any way, and there isnt heat in it.

Any ideas what it could be?

I will probably get the vet to have a look when she comes to do my horses teeth.

This may not be similar to your pony's lump, but my daughter's pony had a concrete hard lump on his triceps muscle. It seemed to appear, but with hindsight think it must have gradually been getting bigger over time. This started to hinder his movement in his leg, to cut a long story short he had it taken out and it was 16cms big and a non malignant sarcoma.

I feel this may have been created by a knock on something hard.

Get your vet to check it out, but if it is the same he may be baffled by scans and xrays.
