Hi, from yet another 'older' rider, whatever one of those is!! I'm 5 ft nothing, and ....ahem......let's say tubbier than I should be, but trying....!! My most recent addition is a 14hh Section D mare, and I also ride a 14.2hh TB mare, both adorable, though the former is somewhat trying at times! Also own a Section B and her Section C foal.
Welcome to the message board!

Hi,
I'm Stephanie and I'm 5''6 and usually ride a 14hh Fell pony at my local riding school. I really want my own pony though. I don't know whether I should get a Welsh Section D ( or C ), Connamara, Highland, Fell or Dales pony.

Hi, and welcome to Nr. I'm 16 so I wouldn't say mature and I don't exactly ride a pony but he is a section D. I'm sure you will like it here.

Love to know more about your ponies and see some pictures.:D

thanks for saying hi ,i find it very freindly here .
its also nice younger and older riders and pony owners are happy to chat .
as we all know winter will upon us soon and riding will be cut short what does everyone do to fill the time . i study like mad as i cant get enough and wish the winter away lol.
does any body use the natural training method with their horses ,
i have used it for a long time and think it is a kinder way of asking horses to understand . nice to chat to you all hope to chat soon .
best wishes welshcoblady1.

Yes I too try to find out more , as I'm a bit of a bookworm too I find the winter months the time to bury my head in a book ( when I'm not mucking out & generally tending the wee beastie that is ). I'm driven to try & learn more & don't think i will know all I want to , can't live long enough , shame really but I've had a lovely time so far. :):)

I'm not studying in any formal sence , more a case of an enquiring mind. I'm always to be found with my nose in one or other of the how to books ( you know Sylvia Loch , Heather Moffat , Sally Swift , people like that). Also like books & articles by people like Richard Maxwell or Kelly Marks . Am fascinated by the veterinary tomes & seem to retain quite a bit of info from them .Have you read Moyra Williams books, Horse Psychology & Understanding Nervousness in Horse & Rider , bought both about 5yrs ago & found them fascinating ? Bored you enough for now , so will leave you in peace bye :):):)
