Hello everyone

I have bought my first horse which happens to be a pony. She's an old girl about 23/24 yrs and is approx. 13.5h and a bay mare.
I've had to build her up as her hindquarters were a bit gaunt. She is also sway backed what a combination.

Her name is Princess and she is incredibly lazy which is great for my friend but I find it very frustrating, even drags her back feet when she trots. Having a lot of trouble trying to get her to trot iin circles but she's fine when going straight. And also being responsive to my leg. Don't know how to encourage her not to lean so much on her forehand.

Funny thing is I always said Iwouldn't have a pony because of their attitudes at times. (I occasionally ride one who's very opinionated) She can be pretty stubborn at times even though she's fairly placid! But she has a gorgeous face esp when she's waiting at the gate!

Hey there!

I've got a fairly extensive post about being on the forehand (or leaning on the reins) in this thread:

I can't reply to your PM because your box is full! I did write up a response, and posted it here:

Tell us more about your new pony! What's her name? Is she a sweetie?
