She's grown!!!!!

the title says it all. No longer 14.2, but now 14.3 1/2!!!!! And she's only 6 - will we go over 15hh I ask myself?

Just to get you worried :D

Peri started at 15hh at 4½yrs and grew until she was 8½yrs, finishing up at 16hh.

Tavia was just over 15hh when we bought her at 4yrs and she matured last year as a 7yo at almost 15.3hh

Personally, I don't mind, because at 5'9", I occasionally felt a little silly - all in my mind, I know. Now that she might grow to more than15hh, I feel happier about inflicting myself on her.

This is a pic of Heather (no.1 daughter) riding her. Up to now, Heather has taken Star in pony classes, no more! Which is a shame because Heather is only 12, but quite tall.

She'd make quite a good LW show cob at 15hh as well.

I'd say she'd make a very nice l/w show cob Janette ,though she's overheight for ponies showing , she's still doesn't exceed 15hh so should be able to do workers with your daughter.You will have to put bricks on her to hold her down at the rate she's going,but you've got a nice allrounder that is good for both of you , which after all is what most people want.:):)

I'm sure she will make a great show cob Janette, plus Heather is going to grow too so she will be able to ride her when she gets older too.

this all sounds familiar expcept i am DESPARATE for my mare to grow! shes 6yr old and is now a little over 14.1hh without shoes, as i'm 25yrs i would like her to just top 14.2hh so i can compete her as a horse. she is actually 14.3hh at her croup but has NO withers at all cos shes a welshie. she has grown at least an inch over the past 6months and i'm really hoping she will level out. at the minute shes growing on a daily basis, probably due to her being in foal and neglected before i bought her, and her now being a pampered pet with ALL of her nutritional needs being met. but i hope your mare doesn;t get too big and that mine does:D :D :D

Gosh - gulp - Cobs are slow to mature aren;'t they. How long do they continue to fill out for after they stop growing upwards?
I've decided to keep her mane hogged - esp if she will be able to show her face in a cob class. And it suits her. Star has no withers either - is it a welsh thing?

Though Ben was full height by 4/5 he only seemed to stop filling out when he was 9 so she could get a lot wider yet. Whatever she does bet she still looks lovely :):)

Janette- No withers is a welsh thing!! And I had to sell my boy because he got so big, I knew he'd grow a bit but not that much!! Being a not very big person by the time my legs got round his width they bairly came under the saddle flap!! So he could never understand my legs cause I couldn't reach him and he was so strong for me he'd just pull me out of the saddle and if we jumped I'd just get unseated because I was so small on him with no leg round anywhere! But he's now a very happy little hunter, hunting twice a week. What he's made for.

The 'Welsh thing' answers a question that I have had, as to what mix she is. She has a gorgeous moustache - Real Hercule Poirot stuff, so I reckon she is IDxWelsh now.!5 hh/15 1/2 might be her finished hieight, but I hope that she does continue to fill out.

Tor and Warrior, I noticed the signature at the end of your post. How did you deal with a buck? Because Star's is re emerging.:mad:
