i have just started to break my 3 year old welsh section d, but she refuses to let me put me the bridle on or anythung that touches her ears without taking it apart. She use to let me pput her headcollar and showbridle on without any problem at all. I have checked the bit so i know it isn't the bit,but anyway she has had a bit since she was about 18 months old. Could she have an infection in her ears? have you got any suggestions? Thanks

Check her mouth, not the bit! She may need the next size up by now. She will be teething at this age so her mouth may be very tender.
Get her ears checked she may have an ear problem if she was alright before.

My 3 yr old Gelding was badly abused before we got him, he is still "ear shy" every now and then. When we first bitted him we let the cheek straps down and adjusted the bit up when the bridle was on,this worked very well he accepts the bridle without resistance most times now, but if he plays up we revert back to letting the bit down , you could also try undoing the bit on one side and putting it in her mouth after the headstall is on. I would still have her mouth and ears checked just to be safe.
Good luck
