Kerry's Partner

I've been away for about four weeks on and off. Equine has been exercised/schooled exceptionally well and ridden well and well cared for whilst I "was gone". AND thank goodness btw she is well enough for this now!! Of course during the same period of time I haven't ridden at all!!
Anyway to share my experience on my return..... Bridle difficult to put on! 2-3 creases at the corner of Kerry's mouth. So had the bit lowered by one hole both sides.
During lesson. Halt please. "Well, Mum is shoulder in OK??............well quarters in then OK??...............well turn on the forehand then????????
"NO, I want you to stand still Kerry." Oooerrr.
Walk on...................."What does that leg aid mean Mum?????????????? It means walk on Kerry!!!!!!!!!!
So, I felt absolutely useless for a few minutes. BUTTTTTT this time (and I hope it was appropriate for me to do this btw) I just said I needed to work with Kerry from halt-walk-halt for a while so that I could work out whether my legs were going astray or whether I just needed to remind her to respond to a unilateral aid. And, also of course I wanted to check whether I was fiddling with my legs and so creating uncertainty re what I wanted.
Happy endings. Kerry worked very well indeed - and I worked on myself too with Sam's guidance.
What an experience!!
