I've been away for about four weeks on and off. Equine has been exercised/schooled exceptionally well and ridden well and well cared for whilst I "was gone". AND thank goodness btw she is well enough for this now!! Of course during the same period of time I haven't ridden at all!!

Anyway to share my experience on my return..... Bridle difficult to put on! 2-3 creases at the corner of Kerry's mouth. So had the bit lowered by one hole both sides.

During lesson. Halt please. "Well, Mum is shoulder in OK??............well quarters in then OK??...............well turn on the forehand then????????

"NO, I want you to stand still Kerry." Oooerrr.

Walk on...................."What does that leg aid mean Mum?????????????? It means walk on Kerry!!!!!!!!!!

So, I felt absolutely useless for a few minutes. BUTTTTTT this time (and I hope it was appropriate for me to do this btw) I just said I needed to work with Kerry from halt-walk-halt for a while so that I could work out whether my legs were going astray or whether I just needed to remind her to respond to a unilateral aid. And, also of course I wanted to check whether I was fiddling with my legs and so creating uncertainty re what I wanted.

Happy endings. Kerry worked very well indeed - and I worked on myself too with Sam's guidance.

What an experience!!

I'm so glad to hear that Kerry's OK now! I sent you a PM from the EE board asking if she was better now, and was a bit worried when I heard nothing from you.

She sounds such a sweetie! :D

Thank you so very much for your reply - I was beginning to wonder if anyone else caredi to be honest.

She IS a real sweetie and she (like all others) deserves so much, that I never stop wondering (on at least a daily basis) if I can ever deliver enough to deserve owning her - alll this despite the constant challenge to my life she brings!!!

Hi Sandra

Glad to hear you and Kerry are getting on well too! :D I don't think it's because nobody cares that you haven't had many replies, it's been very quiet on here ... I know I haven't been posting much either, so sorry I haven't seen your thread and posted before now! :o :)

Sorry Sandra! Like Nix, I must have missed this before, or I'd have replied sooner!

Sounds like things are coming together for you two at last- how are things now?

I'd have been a little concerned at the bit being that high- had she been being ridden with it like that, or had some kind soul cleaned your tack and put it back together wrong?!

Update on your progress please!!:D

:o, anyway at least the weather of late can't be blamed for the shrinking bridel.
Im sure Kerry knows that often in life, less is more:)
Welsh cobs are fantastic horse and many have strong character too, wouldn't want them any otherway

Aw, Sandra, we do care. I think you may have posted this when I was out of town; I know I didn't see it before :(

I sm delighted to hear that things are going smoothly and well, after all your past troubles. That's just delightful. And I know what you mean when you say:
I never stop wondering if I can ever deliver enough to deserve owning her.

I sympathize entirely.
