The horse I ride is a real sweetie. One thing i've noticed lately is that when I pick out his front hooves, he tends to begin to lean on me, which of course doesn't work out eventually due to the dramatic difference in size between the two of us!!! Maybe I'm taking to long and hes losing balance.
Somehow though it feels like when my neighbours dog leans on my out of affection.

anyone else have this happen. Just curious!!!!

If I take too long shoeing and tarry when nailing on, Kina tends to lean on me HARD. I end up holding the corner of a Fjord up while she potters about on the other three legs. Mind you, she forgets how to pick up a front foot somtimes.

It may be just a balance thing some horses can stand on three legs all day, others do wobble about.

Make sure he's standing square before you start. If he's standing squint to start with it will be easier for him to loose balance.
