Hallelujah, Praise the Lord,
Heather's Stirrups are on the board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

'Scuse that burst of Poetic Licence there:D

I've been waiting for ever for Heather's Stirrups to be available, as I can't wait for even the slightest opportunity that I may be able to dispense with my caged endurance ones, if only for competition. They are so ugly, so cumbersome, and they make me feel so very disabled!!!!!!!!

They're now up on Heather's EE site, and will be available in December. However, I note that they're only initially available in 4 1/2", but to e-mail Heather if required in any other size. Ahemm.....can anyone help me out here please??? Having never ever used 'ordinary' stirrups (or not since I've had my own horse anyway)....what's 4 1/2". The width presumably. Is 4 1/2" big, small, adult......child?? Presumably adult. But I have tiny feet for an adult. Help please....?

you measure across the widest part on the sole of your normal riding boot then add an inch?I think its an inch to give the correct size of stirrup.Failing that measure your stirrups you have across the bit you have your sole on:D

4 1/2" is small adult, I think; I use a 5". You could measure the stirrups you've got and see what they are.

I found some itty-bitty jockey/racing stirrups, 3" or 3 1/2", and put them on the leetle saddle for my 4 and 5 year old students :)

Thanks both. Well, my caged endurance stirrups come in one size only, and they're pretty huge, that's why I thought it might not be appropriate to use that measurement for Heather's stirrup.
But I can meaure my foot and then add an inch, that wouldn't be a problem.

I had 4 1/2 stirrups until mid way through the year when i was told at pony club that they were too small (the are very obsessive about having a good finger eityher side of your foot in the stirrups in pony clubs here) so i bought a pair of 4 3/4 ones

Hi folks,

Yes indeed, the stirrups should have arrived in the Uk on Friday, will check with Shires tomorrow to see.

We only had 8 pairs to sell at the Equine Event, but they went like hot cakes, and all eight who bought them have kindly written to me ( without me asking them for feedback!) to say that they are thrilled with them and how much more security they seem to offer. We will put some testimonials up on the website at some point!!!

Shires have done a great job though- the finish is superb and the stirrups look really stylish!!

PS the next bacth will also be offered in men's size too- the 4 1/2" are too small for a lot of men. Out of interest, any of you guys out there, do you ride in 4 3/4 "stirrups, or 5"? Want to make sure we get you the right size made!!!!

I'm not a man, but for the sake of using them in the school I'd like a 5 to be available. I'm also happier with a wider stirrup.

I'm not a man either, but I reckon I need a 5" stirrup in my Mountain Horse boots....

It seems to me that a Euro size 6 is about a US 7 1/2.

Me, I have a 9 1/2-10...but I'm also 5'10" :) I can use a 4 1/2" stirrup with slim shoes, but in clunky shoes I need a 5". I don't think they make shoes that would allow my husband's foot to fit in a 4 1/2" stirrup; he rides in a 5".
