how do i teach my horse to swim?

We went swimming today and he was pretty good except he kept swiming on an angle. So his legs were jutting out to the right and his head and body were sloping to the left

Then when we got to the bank he hit it body first with his legs still out in the water so he ended up lieing down on the rocky bank and cuting his legs. (not very badly)

I HAVE INCLUDED A SMALL PIC DEMOSTRATING. (not a very good one though)

I hope you can understand my pics. LOL

How to i teach my horse to swim normmaly

It's kinda hard to visualise without acctually seeing this, I always thought horses just knew how to swim, Maybe if there was a current affecting his balance? Possibly he just needs practice. I've only ever swam horses on beaches where they have the sand under there feet before ever they reach a bank so I don't know how to help. SOrry

most horses will just automatically swim if you take them out and the water gets to deep, swimming does take A LOT Of muscle (i herd it was something like 2minutes of swimming=30min of intence ring work). maybe just practice it for short periods and it will get better. Some horses cant get the idea, and will just panic though in that case maybe its not a good idea hehe.
