A while ago I fell of my horse we were going into a resonably jump and he went to do it and just stop half way over. I fell onto the front of his neck and then let go as he started to freak out and chucking his neck around and rearing.

I landed funny and but nothing hurt and I managed to get back up and ride him over that jump again. but i was felling very numb.

That was at about 8am

I then went strigth to a 24 hr movie marathon and couldent even hold a can of coke without strugling. Although i felt of and dident have any pain.

When I got out of the marathon at 9 the next morning I went and rode my horse again. I just did a little ground work. I didn't feel tired. but i was very week.

I'm fine now and this thread is not about my fall.

I was amazed that when I rode him he was perfect. I could do a lovely sitting trot and managed to stay with his and balanced throughout. I just felt at one with him.

I know the reson was becuase I was totaly exhausted and my body would not let me tense up. I was lso half paralised and didnet have much strength.

But it realy demonstrated how when you relax amazing things can happen. Since then i have been strving for that but havent quite reached it. I felt like i could have done grand prix that day :) Well maby not quite.

Have you even had a lesson like that from your equine friend. Or some realisation that has changed your ridding? :D

I have had a sitting trot epiphany when we took some horses to the beach about 10 years ago. After lots of galloping around we untacked them and walked them in the sea to cool off. Afterwards eager to get back to the trailer my horse broke out into trot and because I was bareback I could feel every bit of movement and sat to it perfectly by just letting the horse 'rock' my pelvis. Suddenly it all fell into place.
